There is no institution in Pakistan more corrupt than railway
The Supreme Court summoned Railway Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed in the railway deficit case and remarked that there is nothing working properly on the railway. A three-member bench of the Supreme Court, headed by Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed, heard the railway deficit case. The Supreme Court summoned Railway Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed, Secretary Railway and CO Railway yesterday.
Expressing an absolute audit report to the Railways, the Supreme Court said that the Railway Ministry should first travel on the train itself. Your record is manual rather than computerized; nothing is working properly in the Railway. There is no institution in Pakistan more corrupt than that, the stations are not valid, neither the track nor the signal.
Justice Ijaz-ul-Hassan said that the railway system was not running and the report made it clear that the department was facing billions of rupees deficit.
The Chief Justice remarked without naming the Minister Railway that the Railway is falling and forming the government on a daily basis, but the Ministry is unable to take over. The entire Railway Department is in politics. While the world is moving forward with a bullet train, what happened to the fire that was on the railway?
Railway lawyer said the matter was investigated and two persons were prosecuted. The Chief Justice expressed his gratitude, saying that the CEO of the Railways did not submit his proceedings in the stove. Lawyer Railway said the notice went to the former CO and he is no longer present. The court adjourned the hearing till tomorrow, summoning other officials including CO Railway.
