Shopping malls, markets, restaurants will remain close in Punjab for 2 days

Due to the Coronavirus outbreak, the Punjab government has decided to close shopping malls, bazaars, restaurants, parks and other places of recreation and entertainment for two days.

Addressing a press conference via video link, Chief Minister Usman Buzdar said, “With regard to Corona, the committee has decided that for the betterment of the people, all the shopping malls, bazaars, restaurants, parks and tourist places will remain closed for 2 days.

He said implementation on this decision will start from 9am to 9pm on Saturday night while grocery stores, milk shops, bakeries, and petrol pumps will be opened for the convenience of the public.

Usman Buzdar appealed to the people to stay in their homes for two days to protect their families and children from the Coronavirus epidemic and to cooperate with the government and keep social distance, proving they are responsible citizens.

He said that during these two days public transport would be fully open, while all departments would be issued instructions not to harass any shopkeeper.

On the working-class affected by restrictions and closure, he said, “They will be given a financial package. A committee headed by the provincial finance minister has been constituted, which is working in this regard and presented the package on Tuesday.

Finance Minister Punjab said that “full review is being taken on how much the sector is being affected, and export sector employees are being affected due to global markets.”

Referring to the steps taken to prevent Corona, Health Minister Punjab Dr. Yasmin Rashid said that “5 hospitals in the province have been allocated to treat suspected and certified patients of Coronavirus only. Also, separate locations have been allocated for isolation. ‘

She said, “As the Chief Minister announced yesterday that a large bedside hospital is being set up in Lahore, a separate hospital will be set up in the remaining divisional headquarters, which will be related in the next two days.

Note that the number of victims of coronavirus has reached 137 in Punjab.

Coronavirus, which is infecting the world, is now spreading rapidly in Pakistan and the number of people infected here has exceeded 600.
