The tortured body of a six-year-old girl who went missing last night from Zaman Town in the Korangi area of Karachi, Pakistan’s largest city, was found in a rubbish bin on Wednesday.
According to Zaman Town Police, the body has been shifted to Jinnah Hospital in Karachi where the girl’s father Abdul Khaliq has identified her. A preliminary post-mortem report by Jinnah Hospital’s medical team confirmed that the girl’s death was due to severe torture.
Speaking to the media, Dr. Samia, Additional Police Surgeon, Jinnah Hospital, said: “One or more people raped the girl. The worst violence was after the rape. The neck bone is also broken. The girl died of asphyxiation. The mouth, cheeks, neck, and face were covered with mud.
“We have obtained all the other samples, including DNA and pathology, and it will be clear once the report comes out how many people have been abused,” She said.
The girl’s father works as a lift operator for a foreign garment company in the Korangi Industrial Area.
Speaking to the media the girl’s father Abdul Khaliq said: “My six-year-old daughter was playing outside the house with other children in the neighborhood around 9 pm last night. There was no electricity because we have load shedding from eight o’clock at night.
When the electricity came, it was found out that the girl was missing. At first, we found out from the people of the neighborhood but if the girl was not found, we also informed the police but the police did not help. He kept looking for the girl all night long. In the morning, a motorcyclist said that a body was found in the rubbish bin and there was a crowd of people.
“By the time we got there, the body was taken to the hospital by ambulance. When I saw her in the hospital, she was my daughter’s body. The oppressors did great wrong. What did we do wrong to someone who killed my flower girl like that? ‘
Malik Amir, SHO of Zaman Town police station, said that the parents had not informed the police about the disappearance of the girl, otherwise the police would have helped. “We have cut off the FIR of the girl’s murder and are investigating. We will find the killers soon.”
