Do not be concerned about overcharging. As long as the iPhone is plugged in, it will automatically stop charging the battery and switch to AC power. To put it another way, you can leave it plugged in all night.

Try to keep the battery above the 75 percent mark as much as possible; if it does, use the 60 percent threshold as a benchmark for ‘critical.’ This may seem silly, but if you follow the above guidelines religiously, it shouldn’t be a problem. Drops below that level are acceptable on occasion.
If you do manage to deplete your battery to the point that it is no longer functional, make sure you recharge it as quickly as possible. A battery that is severely depleted or fully depleted will only deteriorate faster.
