Brush Regularly One of the simplest tools in the cavity prevention toolbox is a regular routine with your toothbrush. Most people hit the morning brushing without too much trouble. If you're irregular about that evening brushing, though, look for ways to make it a regular habit. If necessary, do it earlier in the evening and just avoid late-night snacks. 2. Trim Some Sugar Out of Your Diet Do you like getting one of those fancy coffees on the way to work every day? It's probably not doing your teeth any favors. Most of those drinks come with a lot of sugar. Eating a lot of bread and pasta isn't helping you out much either. Carbs basically are sugars for all intents and purposes. While you shouldn't give up everything you love, look for ways you can trim out a little sugar each day. 3. Make a habit of always brushing your teeth in the morning and at night. Use floss once a day. Cut some sugar out of your diet. Beyond that, make and keep your appointments for dental checkups.
