Computer Builder site continue with the landing of the new mid-range motherboards for the AM4 platform, that is, those based on the B450 chipset that allows us to offer products with exceptional characteristics at very competitive prices. This time we have the Asus ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING Compatible GPU is in our article, the models that seeks to offer excellent quality, as well as a very careful aesthetic, as is usual in this series from the manufacturer.

Brief Selection Tips:-

Permission:-

The higher the game resolution, the more powerful card you need. 1080p gaming does not require flagship performance.

Power Supply:-

Make sure your power supply has enough power and has the correct 6- or 8-pin connectors. For example, AMD recommends a 750W PSU for the Radeon VII graphics card, while the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 requires a 550W PSU.

Video Memory:-

The required minimum today is 4 GB of video memory. Models with 6 GB of memory are even better, but we strongly recommend using video cards with at least 8 GB of memory. Some games can now use 12 GB of video memory, although they are more of an exception to the rule.

FreeSync or G-Sync:-

If your monitor supports AMD FreeSync technology, then you need to select Radeon to use it. Displays with Nvidia G-Sync technology only implement it with GeForce cards.

Ray Tracing, DLSS and FSR:-

The latest graphics cards support ray tracing for enhanced visuals. In turn, DLSS provides intelligent scaling and anti-aliasing to improve gaming performance while maintaining comparable picture quality. True, all this only works with Nvidia RTX video cards. AMD FSR technology is the most versatile – it is compatible with almost any video card.

Nvidia RTX 3070 and AMD RX 6800:-

Theoretically, graphics cards like the Nvidia RTX 3070 and AMD RX 6800 are half the price of the RTX 2080 Ti and generally have similar or better performance. Meanwhile, the RX 6800 XT and RTX 3080 are 30-35% faster than the 2080 Ti for less money, and the RTX 3090 is 10-20% faster than the RTX 3080 but nearly twice the price of the latter.

In addition, you can see that the capabilities of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 largely depend on the model of the processor used. You will need a fresh 1 or 2 year old CPU with at least 6 cores and 12 threads to unlock the potential of a graphics card, and an 8 core processor will add a few more performance percentages to it.

Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti & RTX 3070 Ti Graphics Cards:-

The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti and GeForce RTX 3070 Ti graphics cards didn’t make much of an impression on us. The 3080 Ti is about 10% faster than the RTX 3080, but it also costs 71% more than the latter. The 3070 Ti looks more attractive, but even here the price-performance ratio does not seem particularly interesting – the performance increase of the video card compared to the 3070 was still the same 10%, while its price increased by 20%. The undoubted advantages of these video cards include, perhaps, the limitation of performance when mining crypto-currency. This makes them less attractive to miners and, in theory, can lead to a decrease in the retail price of video cards, more precisely, to its approach to the prices recommended by the manufacturer.
