CBSE has made significant changes in exam patterns and structure of examinations for the academic year 2021-22 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The board has divided the syllabus into two terms, and therefore separate examinations for term 1 and term 2 will be conducted. Previously, there used to be only one examination at the end of the academic session, but now students have to appear for term 1 and term 2 exams. This change in the syllabus and exam pattern has created anxiety among Class 10 and Class 12 students regarding the board exam preparation. But, with the help of proper guidance and study material, students can score good marks in the exams. So, to help them prepare better, we bring some effective tips to crack the term 1 exams with ease.

Tips to Prepare for CBSE Term 1 Exams 2021-22

Students are advised to go through the following tips and use them effectively to sail through the board exam journey.

1) Know the Syllabus Changes Made

CBSE has divided the curriculum into two terms by following a systematic approach. Each term carries 50% of the syllabus. Also, the examinations for each term will be conducted on the basis of the bifurcated syllabus. So, students must go through the entire syllabus right at the beginning of the 2021-22 academic session. They should strictly study only those topics which are to be asked for term 1 exams, and leave the topics of term 2 for later. Doing so will keep them on the right track, and they will be able to score high marks in term 1 examinations.

2) Follow NCERT Books

The most authentic and reliable resource for board exam students is NCERT books. Also, these books are recommended by the CBSE. These books are designed as per the syllabus and explain concepts in an easy to understand way. So, students are advised to study from these books. Once they have completed the entire syllabus and have mastered the exercise questions, they can refer to other books for more practice.

3) Solve the Term 1 Sample Papers

CBSE has changed the entire process of examination for Class 10 and 12 students. To help students with their preparation, it has released the CBSE Sample Paper for practice. By solving these sample papers, students will get to know the question paper format, types of questions expected in the exams and changes made in the exam pattern from previous years. Doing so will help them plan their studies in an effective manner and they can prepare well for exams.

4) Make a Study Plan

After completing the syllabus, students must make a study schedule for themselves. The study plan will help them in revision and also keep track of their performance. With the help of a study plan, they can easily revise all the topics in the allocated time. It will also help them understand their weaknesses and strengths. By working on their weak areas, they can improve their performance for the term 1 examinations.

5) Practice, Practice and Practice

Practice is the key to boost scores in any exam. So, after finishing the revision, students are advised to practice as much as they can. They can refer to other books to solve mock tests and model papers. They can also practice the CBSE Previous Year Question Paper to boost their confidence. Solving the past year’s papers also helps them in understanding the changes that have been made in this year’s question paper format. So, it will help them set exam strategies and prepare for their exams in a new way.
