Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight from Lahore to Karachi crashes near Karachi Airport

A passenger plane coming from Lahore to Karachi crashed near Model Colony in Karachi. 99 passengers 8 crew members were aboard Airbus 320.

Airport security officials confirmed the incident. The crashed plane belonged to #PIA (Pakistani International airlines). It was traveling from #lahore to Karachi and has crashed near the Model colony in #Karachi.

The PK 303 from Lahore to Karachi has crashed just before landing the officials confirm. The Airbus A320 went down onto the residential quarters, houses also damaged. PIA spokesman Abdul Sattar confirmed the incident and said the A-320 had 90 passengers on board coming from Lahore to Karachi.

Sindh Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah immediately ordered all the fire brigade vehicles of the city to reach the site of the Model Colony accident and order rescue operations.  On the other hand, according to Miran Yousuf, media coordinator of Sindh Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Health has imposed emergency in all major hospitals in Karachi.

Immediately after the incident, law enforcement agencies, rescue officials and locals arrived at the scene.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Army Public Relations Department (ISPR) said in a statement that the Quick Reaction Force and Pakistan Rangers Sindh have reached the spot for relief operations and are assisting them with the civil administration.
