Minar-e-Pakistan Incident: Police took Victim (Ayesha Akram) into Custody

On Independence Day, a horrific incident of mass harassment and assault took place with Ayesha Akram in Greater Iqbal Park, Lahore, after which she was taken into police custody as she was in danger of death.

According to the details, Saddam Hussain, the brother of the victim Ayesha Akram, said that after the video of the incident went viral, he received various phone calls and people started coming and going home, so the police have kept Ayesha in security custody. However, family members are allowed to visit her.

Ayesha Akram is a nurse by profession and lives in a hospital hostel. Ayesha Akram Baig has been active on social media platforms TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube for a long time. Various videos of her are also available on her personal and TikTok and partners’ accounts.

According to Ayesha’s brother Saddam Hussein, Ayesha lives in a hospital hostel and comes home weekly. According to him, Ayesha was coming home on Independence Day when she stopped to make a TikTok video on Greater Iqbal Park.

Saddam Hussein said police called at home around 7:30 pm and told that this all happened with Ayesha.  When we got there, we found out that he had been harassed and had his clothes torn.

On the other hand, a high-level investigation into the Minar Pakistan incident is underway and the Punjab government has removed SSP Operations Syed Nadeem Abbas and Additional SP Operations Hassan Jahangir from their posts for failing to report the incident. DSP Badami Bagh Usman Haider and SHO Ravi Road Muhammad Jamil have been suspended. On the other hand, the director and deputy director of Greater Iqbal Park have also been suspended.

It is to be noted that the medical examination of the victim Ayesha Akram was done at Nawaz Sharif Hospital Yakki Gate in which signs of inflammation and scratches were found on the body of the woman.

According to the report, 13 clear marks were found on the ears, feet, back, arms, neck, and right hand of the woman while bruises were also found on several parts of the body.
