Thanks to our years of experience in the artificial green wall industry, we’ve compiled a list of ideas for outdoor projects anyone can use.
Here are 4 simple yet effective ways to bring your ideal poolside to life:
1. Install an outdoor green wall by the pool
You don’t need to make drastic changes to improve your poolside. If you’re using a vertical garden, start small.
It’s tempting to cover an entire fence or wall with fauxliege, but if you’re new to artificial greenery, don’t overwhelm yourself.
Browse your chosen collection of faux green walls and pick the panel that best complements your existing decor. Once you have your choice, you can install it yourself or hire a professional to do it for you.
Artificial green walls for a pool are great DIY projects and often take just a few hours to complete. A recent client of ours DIY-ed their poolside with the Ultra-Luxury Lush Spring to give it a subtle uplift.
Although they didn’t cover the entire fence, the area still benefitted from the change and proved that sometimes, less is more.
2. Mix different faux green wall panels
For a more creative and dynamic effect, mix different artificial green wall panels together to cover a larger surface.
Our faux vertical garden panels have flexible grids, which makes them easy to cut and shape. So, you can cut your panels in specific shapes and interconnect them for a smooth transition from one panel to the other.
We recently worked on a similar project for a poolside, where the client used 3 different artificial green wall panels from our store, including the Lush Fern, the Dark Artificial Boxwood Wall, and the White Flowering Artificial Boxwood Wall.
They made a wave-like structure that enriches the rest of the space and showcases a beautiful blend of textures.
Alternatively, you can also use our Evergreen Tryptich set, which consists of 3 artificial green wall panels with varying foliage arrangements that work as a whole
3. Install imitation planters underneath the panels
To create a defined distinction between the pool and the surface covered by an artificial outdoor green wall, build an imitation planter underneath the panels.
An imitation planter is a decorative feature designed to mimic the appearance of a real planter housing vegetation. These “planters” provide the same aesthetic appeal as real planters without carrying any soil.
We typically build them with wooden slabs or panels, which we then place at the base of an artificial hedge or green wall mounted on a vertical surface.
Our Designer Plants team has already completed similar projects for both residential and commercial properties, and the results have been nothing short of extraordinary.
4. Personalize your faux plant wall
Once your artificial green wall is up, it’s time for the fun stuff. While your vertical garden already looks striking, it’s likely not very different than other client projects with the same panels.
But, this doesn’t have to be the case because there are many ways you can customize your faux plant wall.
A few of our favorite ideas include:
- Outdoor lighting to highlight the fake greenery
- Artificial stems among the fauxliege
- Outdoor furniture to frame the green wall panels
- Accessories that complement the color scheme
Of course, there are many other approaches to customization, so don’t hesitate to experiment. For more ideas, check out how our warehouse manager Will personalizes an artificial green wall disc:
