28 Staff Members tested Positive for Coronavirus including Doctors

The Coronavirus has been confirmed in 28 members of the medical staff, including six doctors at the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital, Abbottabad.

According to official documents, the medical staff at the DHQ hospital, also commonly known as Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Hospital, includes six nurses, four lady health visitors and other allied staff members in addition to doctors. ۔

Dr. Jawad Majeed, a coroner’s focal person at the hospital, said the medical staff contracted the virus between May 14 and 23. Six doctors have been quarantined after testing positive for the coronavirus.

It was also revealed that none of the staff members, including doctors, in the hospital’s emergency and intensive care unit (ICU) had personal virus protection equipment (PPAs).

It should be noted that not only ordinary people in the country but also doctors, paramedics, other medical personnel, and security personnel who were fighting the virus on the front line have been affected and lost their lives.
