2019 was the golden Year for Pakistani Showbiz Industry

2019 has been a great year for Pakistan’s showbiz industry. This year, not only did several dramas hit the boundaries of popularity but also numerous films were made.

The small-budget, one-and-a-half-hour-long film ‘Laal Kabootar set new internationally successful records. Sarmad Khost’s film ‘Zindagi Tamasha’ won the KGG Civic Award in the international film Busan.

The films released this year include ‘Gum’, ‘Jack Pot’, ‘Laal Kabootar’, ‘Sherdal’, ‘Ghazi’, ‘Junoon’, ‘Ishq’, ‘Chhulava’, ‘wrong No. 2’, Psycho Logical Thriller. ‘Kuta Kashi’, ‘Baji’, ‘Ready-Ready No’, Tum Hi To Ho, ‘Theo’, ‘Heer Maan Ja’, Pary Hut lo, ‘Superstar’, ‘Dal Chawal’, ‘Darj’, ‘ Kaaf Kanga, ‘Talash’ and ‘Such’.

The overall business of these films was something like this: ‘the wrong Number’ 22 crores, ‘Chholava’ 15 crores, ‘Sher Dil’ 13 crores, ‘Baji’ 12 crores and ‘Heer Maan Ja’ 11 crores, ‘Superstar’ 28 crores. And ‘Pary Hut Lo’ has made a business of Rs 27 crore.

Apart from Urdu Punjabi, Pashto films were also released. Some filmmakers in Lahore also produced a few low-budget films for single-screen cinemas. Along with the film ‘Laal Kabotaar’, the film ‘Baji’ received international acclaim.

Pakistani artists did not work in India this year nor did Indian content run in Pakistan. This year, there was a time when films were not new, so many cinemas were re-screened in the same year.
